---- Dear Colleague,
We cordially invite you to contribute your research abstracts to the mini-symposium on €œVerification and Validation€ as part of the 11th World Congress of Computational Mechanics, 5th European Conference on Computational Mechanics and 6th European Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics, WCCM-ECCM-ECFD 2014, to be held on July 20-25, 2014, in Barcelona, Spain.
In view of the research interests of your group/institution in computational methodologies for V&V, we would like to invite you, or one of your collaborators, to contribute to the mini-symposium. Presentations (including a brief question and answer session) are expected to be about 20 minutes each. Information about this mini-symposium may be found here: http://www.wccm-eccm-ecfd2014.org/frontal/MSListECFD.asp

--------------------- Title: Verification and Validation
Keywords: code verification, solution verification, method of manufactured solutions
Abstract: Critical decisions based on simulations require an assessment of how well the simulations predict physical systems of interest. The processes of Verification and Validation provide a framework for establishing confidence, via collection of evidence, that the simulation tools and their results are sufficiently accurate and appropriate for the desired predictions. This Mini-Symposium is an opportunity to address many aspects of Verification and Validation; and all Verification and Validation related topics are welcome, but the organizers hope to emphasize: * V&V Case Studies; * Code Verification/ Manufactured Solutions; * Solution Verification; * Validation Metrics; * Constitutive Model V&V. -----------------------
