26th Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise (VIB)
Description
Welcome to the 26th Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise (VIB). This longstanding event brings together researchers from across the globe to share ideas and results on all aspects of Vibration and Noise Engineering. We invite you to participate. Papers are solicited in the areas of dynamics, vibration, acoustics and control.
The conference theme is broad, covering aspects of vibratory systems from emerging fields such as smart structures and bio-mechanical systems, to traditional areas of research. This Conference is sponsored by the Technical Committee on Vibration and Sound and supported by the Technical Committee on Multibody Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics
Nonlinear Systems and Phenomena
Organizers: Prof. José Manoel Balthazar UNESP-Rio Claro, SP, Brazil
Prof. Paulo Batista Goncalves €“ PUC-RJ, RJ, Brazil
Description The Technical Committee on Vibration and Sound (TCVS), an integral part of the ASME Design Engineering Division, is organizing a Symposium on Nonlinear Systems and Phenomena. This symposium aims to provide a forum for discussing and disseminating the latest approaches, methodologies, results and current challenges in the area of nonlinear phenomena and other related disciplines. Contributions are solicited in all analytical, computational and experimental aspects. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: € Interdisciplinary approaches and complex phenomena in problems encountered in engineering practice. € Analytical methods, including asymptotic and perturbation techniques € Nonlinear energy transfer and localization phenomena € Nonlinear periodic systems (e.g., phononic crystals and granular media) € Non-smooth effects, including vibro-impacts and dry friction € Multi-scale and multi-physics phenomena across disciplines € Fluid-structure interaction phenomena, and control of vortex-induced vibrations € Nonlinear acoustics € Applications bioengineering and biomedical engineering € Case studies of applications of nonlinear behavior in practice € Experimental techniques
Paper Submission Technical papers and presentations on various topics of engineering design are solicited for the conference. Please refer to the individual call for papers for each conference and contact the respective conference chairs for inquiries about the conference. The conference will include plenary sessions, keynote lectures, and tutorials on topics related to engineering design. Industry participation is particularly welcome; indeed, we hope the conference will provide opportunities for fruitful communication between the research and industrial communities.
Authors should submit an abstract and draft paper through the IDETC/CIE 2014 website. For assistance with submitting your abstract online, please view the author help manual.
All papers are expected to follow ASME editorial standards. All conference papers will be made available on a DVD-ROM available at the meeting. The DVD-ROM is not the official proceedings of the conference. Please see the ASME Presenter Attendance Policy.
Publication Schedule If you are planning to submit an abstract and draft paper for consideration, please note the IDETC/CIE 2014 publication schedule. Upon successful online submission, you will receive a confirmation and an assigned paper number
