Geometric Analysis of Multimedia Data: Geometry as a Paradigm for Machine Learning and Data Mining in Multimedia Systems

The main goal of this special issue is to explore geometric concepts for analysis, data representation and integration, information extraction and retrieval from multimedia systems. Potential topics, but not limited to, are the following:
1) Geometric analysis of deep hierarchical structures in multimedia
2) Generative models and manifolds for multimodal information retrieval
3) Data models integrating geometry, multivariate statistics and sampling theory
4) Topological data analysis for studying geometric features of data
5) Multimedia data mining and analysis based on Geometry and Topology
6) Multimedia data analysis based on manifold learning
7) Geometric based approaches for metric learning
8) Geometry as a paradigm to discuss deep learning algorithms in multimedia applications
